Three New Medical Centers on the Way

Northern Cyprus is on the brink of a significant healthcare expansion as plans for three new medical centers in Değirmenlik, Varosha, and Lapta are set to become a reality. The recent signing of contracts with the contractors who won the construction tenders marks a critical step forward in the government's commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure across the region.

Hakan Dinçyürek, the Minister of Health for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), announced the completion of the tender processes for these vital social facilities. The formal signing of the contracts took place recently at the Ministry of Health, signifying the government's dedication to swiftly advancing these projects.

The design phase for all three medical centers has now been completed, with construction set to commence shortly. Next week, a groundbreaking ceremony will mark the laying of the foundations, signaling the start of a new chapter in healthcare services for the communities of Değirmenlik, Varosha, and Lapta.

One of the standout projects is the Health Center in Değirmenlik, which will be constructed on a 680-square-meter site. The facility, which comes with a price tag of 28 million 479 thousand Turkish liras, will be funded entirely through local resources from the TRNC budget. This center is poised to become a crucial healthcare hub for the region, providing essential services to the local population.

Meanwhile, the Health Center in Varosha is set to be an even larger project, with a construction area of 1,000 square meters. The project’s cost is estimated at 51 million 921 thousand Turkish liras, with full funding provided by resources from the Turkish Republic. This investment highlights the collaborative efforts between Northern Cyprus and Turkey in bolstering healthcare infrastructure.

The third medical center, planned for Lapta, will further expand healthcare access in the region, though specific details about this project have yet to be fully disclosed. What is clear, however, is that these new facilities will play a critical role in enhancing the overall health and well-being of residents across Northern Cyprus.

The initiation of these projects reflects a broader strategy by the TRNC government to strengthen public health services and ensure that quality medical care is accessible to all citizens. By focusing on local resources and international cooperation, Northern Cyprus is taking significant strides toward a more robust and resilient healthcare system.

As construction begins, the anticipation among local communities is palpable. These new medical centers are not just buildings; they represent a commitment to better health outcomes, more accessible care, and a brighter future for the people of Northern Cyprus.

With the foundations soon to be laid, the countdown to the completion of these centers begins. Once finished, they will stand as pillars of progress, supporting the health and well-being of the TRNC's citizens for generations to come.
